Nikki's interest in photography lies in its inherent alchemy and its ability to show the unseen.
Earlier work, shown at The Photographers’ Gallery in London, considered the tangibility of a photograph, using both the book form, paper and sculptural installations, to explore whether the aura of a photograph’s representation is part of its physical form.
The mysteries and sheer beauty of the natural world continue to captivate her and much of her personal practice is in nature, including at night under moonlight.
"With a passion for authenticity, and an appreciation and fascination of the connectedness of all things, I now specialise in the genres of health, (real) food photography, location portraiture and lifestyle. My work has been exhibited internationally, including PHotoEspaña and International Garden Photographer of the Year for eight years, ranging from a portfolio shot in El Paso, Texas, to an artists’ garden in the wilds of Iceland. All is tied together with my other activities as a holistic therapist, wild food forager and retreat leader".
Nikki has also volunteered in England for RSPCA (pet portrait) and Create to Learn (concept and delivery of an eight week art project in an inner city primary school).
